ESG AS A CONTROL ISSUE

ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) implemented simply and integrated into ERM!

Content requirements for an ESG report compliant with the CSRD
A sustainability report in accordance with the CSRD includes the following elements, among others:
Legal framework: CSRD and EU taxonomy
With the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the EU Taxonomy Regulation, the European Union has established uniform and binding requirements for the sustainability reporting of companies.
Out) as well as the impact of external ESG factors on the company (Outside-In) to analyze and make transparent.

Regulatory-required implementation measures

The following measures must be implemented to meet legal requirements:

01

Conducting a double materiality analysis (impact materiality and financial materiality)

02

Establishing an in-house ESG team or appointing an ESG officer

03

Integration of ESG risks into ERM (Enterprise Risk Management)

04

Building an ESG reporting system with a consistent data base

05

Integration of ESG criteria into strategy, processes and control systems

06

Reporting according to the ESRS standards

07

Audit preparation and external assurance of sustainability information

Linking ESG risks with risk management

Definition spezifischer Risikokennzahlen and Early warning indicators

Conclusion

The CSRD and the associated standards mark a paradigm shift in corporate reporting. ESG and ERM become a central component of strategic corporate management. The regulatory-driven change requires integrated, interdisciplinary, and digitally-enabled sustainability management that considers both risk and opportunity perspectives.
